Jason O'Mahony | International Cyber Safety Expert for Children
Jason O Mahony is a seasoned online safety and cyber security International lecturer and thought leader. His extensive experience includes over two decades of service with An Garda Siochana (Irish Police Force), during which he participated in numerous significant national investigations.
He holds a First Class Honours degree in Computer Forensics and Cybercrime Investigation from UCD in 2015. Jason is a dedicated researcher of Cyber-Psychology and a postgraduate Psychology student.
In 2016, Jason established Children of the Digital Age (CODA) in Ireland to address the growing demand for education in online safety and security. CODA aims to deliver engaging, fun and informative workshops and presentations for educators, parents, and children, promoting safe and positive use of the internet and digital devices.
Jason’s international collaborations began in 2019, focusing on child and female protection. He led a global financial investigation into Mindgeek, a major adult entertainment company. He is a member of several child advocacy task force committees worldwide.
In 2020, Jason published his first Online Safety book for parents published by the UK-based Anti-Virus company WardWiz. Jason's expertise includes online safety education, cyber security, Cyber-psychology and the harmful influence of AI.
In 2022, he founded Children of the Digital Age South Africa, a non-profit organisation, and recently opened Children of the Digital Age in Zimbabwe. In 2023, he became part of the African Cybersmart Network addressing young people, parents, and educators in South Africa and Botswana on behalf of Cybersmart Botswana in 2024.
Recognised as an international public speaker in online safety, Jason remains dedicated to his work in this rapidly evolving field.
