Cyber Security Talks for Business
Lunch and Learn for Working Parents
This 30–45-minute Zoom or Microsoft Teams session gives parents clear, no-nonsense guidance on keeping children safe on phones, games, and social media. It is a focused, interactive talk that staff can join from their desks or home office, with live Q&A at the end.
What the session covers
The talk is tailored for parents and carers from primary pupils to older teens and young adults.
Making phones safe for kids (practical settings, rules not guidelines, and a clear action plan parents can implement that evening).
Primary years (4–10): screen‑time limits, age‑appropriate content, why young children should not be on social media, and how to set simple, firm family rules.
Tweens (10–12): safe surfing when parents are not watching, managing early exposure to Snapchat, TikTok, WhatsApp and Instagram, and using privacy settings properly.
Teens (12–16): digital wellbeing, cyberbullying, gaming and VPNs, social media addiction, and how to help them manage their online reputation.
Older teens and young adults (16–18+): sexting, online flirting and respect, pornography and adult images, and the long‑term impact of what they post on future study, travel and employment.

Format, outcomes and follow‑up
The Lunch and Learn can be booked as a single company‑wide session or repeated for different time zones, and is available online throughout the working day. Parents can rewatch the talk when a recording is available, and may be invited to join our email club for ongoing tips and reminders to keep their children safe.
By the end of the session, working parents leave with:
- A clearer understanding of current risks on social media, gaming and messaging apps across age groups.
- A checklist of changes to make on phones, tablets and consoles.
- Simple rules they can agree on at home to reduce arguments and improve digital well-being.
Who it’s for
This talk is ideal for HR, wellbeing and D&I teams who want to support staff with family responsibilities as part of their wider cyber security and wellbeing programme. We regularly speak to charities, banks, NGOs, government departments and businesses, and our sessions are consistently rated the “best talk” of the day by organisers and attendees.
